The seeds for our Passion Flower Seed oil come from the South Western area of Uganda, from a mountain range called the Mountains of the Moon . The climatical conditions that enshroud these mountains, called Rwenzori (rain maker) in the local language, are ideal for growing passion fruit. The mountainous nature of the terrain lends itself well to small holder farming, with the growing of passion fruit being both popular and sustainable. Currently 200 families produce the passion fruit from which the passion fruit seeds are derived.
The seed is then dried, cleaned and sorted by a women s group, for whom the income is invaluable as they are the main breadwinners for their families.
